- How to use Claro Roaming services with your GSM mobile device?
It is also extremely important that you verify your home operator has a roaming agreement with Claro before you travel. To be able to use your mobile phone in the Dominican Republic you must have a device that is compatible with the frequencies used by our networks:
- 2G (1900 MHz network).
- 3.5G (850 MHz network).
- 4G LTE (1700 MHz - 2100 MHz)
- Using Claro Roaming services
If there is a Roaming Agreement in place and your home operator has properly provisioned Roaming service, your mobile will connect to the network automatically. However, you can always choose Claro’s network manually by going into your phone’s menu and following these steps:
- Step 1: From the main menu go to “Settings”.
- Step 2: In “Settings” select the “Network” or “Network Settings” option.
- Step 3: Then select the “Network Selection Mode” option and change it from “Automatic” to “Manual”.
- Step 4: After this change the phone will start scanning for available networks and when finish it will show you the list on the screen. Choose Claro and the “select network” option. The Claro Network can be displayed as 37002, DOMCL, Claro DOM GSM, Claro DOM UMTS.
- Step 5: Once "CLARO" is displayed on your screen, you are connected. (The connection procedure may vary according to your mobile device and could take a few seconds).
Despite the fact that this manual network selection procedure will always be performed through the “mobile network” options of your phone, the above described options may vary depending on the brand, model and software version of your phone.
